What information do we get about Olivia? What is your first impression of her?

At first we have to say that Olivia is the completely opposite of Anna (p.12,ll.22). Olivia always wants to be perfect and extremely neat (p.12,l.23-25). To say it in her words: she is always trying to “civilise” her home (p.12,l.25). She also arranges her house with pictures, flowers and rugs (p.12,ll.23).

The first impression of Olivia is that she does not want to adjust to India and India´s ways of life. There is always her british site inside her, which makes her doing all her “civilasition things”. She is also very picky concerning her house, clothes, food and Douglas.
